Terms of Use

Welcome to KitchenSense. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KitchenSense mobile and web application (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using KitchenSense, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

KitchenSense offers a free plan and a Premium subscription. Premium subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. Free trials, where offered, automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled before then.

• You can cancel at any time from the subscription settings within the App.
• Payments are processed by our payment provider and are non-refundable except where required by law.
• Prices may change; we will notify you in advance of any changes affecting your subscription.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
• Upload content that is offensive, infringing, or violates the rights of others.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the App.
• Use the App to build a competing product.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g. photos, notes, recipes, feedback). By submitting content, you grant KitchenSense a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process that content solely to operate and improve the App.

6. AI-Generated Content and Recipes

KitchenSense uses AI to generate recipes, ingredient lists, nutrition information, and suggestions. This content is provided for general informational purposes only.

• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or safety of AI-generated content.
• You are responsible for checking ingredients for allergens, freshness, and dietary suitability.
• Nutrition information is an estimate and should not be relied upon for medical or clinical decisions.
• Always use safe food handling and cooking practices.

7. Health Disclaimer

KitchenSense is not a medical, nutrition, or healthcare service. Information in the App is not a substitute for professional advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, especially if you have allergies, medical conditions, or specific nutritional needs.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, logos, text, and software, is owned by KitchenSense and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our prior written permission.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you breach these Terms or use the App in a way that could harm us or other users. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KitchenSense will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
